Spiritforged, also known as Spirit Weapons in French, is the second set for Riftbound: League of Legends TCG and the first true expansion to build upon the foundations laid by Origins.
With 221 new cards, 12 new Legends, and several original mechanics, Spiritforged significantly expands deck-building possibilities. The expansion places a particular emphasis on Gear, while introducing new ways to generate and use resources.
When was Riftbound Spiritforged released in French?
Spiritforged was released in English on February 13, 2026; the French version of Spiritforged / Armes Spirituelles arrived on July 24, 2026, at the same time as Set 3 Unleashed / Déchaînement.
This release allowed French-speaking players to quickly catch up with international editions.
At PKA Cards, the Riftbound Spiritforged Display – Set 2 Spirit Weapons in French is available while stocks last.
The new mechanics of Spiritforged
Gear
Gear is one of the main innovations in Spiritforged.
These are Gear cards that can be attached to a unit. Once equipped, the card can buff the unit or provide it with new abilities.
If the equipped unit leaves the field, the Gear is not necessarily lost: it can remain available and be attached to another unit later.
This mechanic therefore adds a new dimension to unit management and allows for the construction of more strategies centered around Gear.
Quick-Draw
Quick-Draw allows certain Gear cards to be played as a Reaction.
The Gear can then be played directly from the hand and attached immediately to a controlled unit, which opens up the possibility of surprising the opponent by reinforcing a unit at the last moment during a clash.
Weaponmaster
Some units have the Weaponmaster ability.
When a Weaponmaster unit enters play, it can equip a piece of Gear controlled by its player while benefiting from a reduction in its equip cost.
This mechanic allows champions and units specialized in armed combat to more easily exploit the new Gear in Spiritforged.
Gold: a new resource
Spiritforged also introduces Gold tokens.
A Gold is a single-use piece of gear that can be used to pay a power cost instead of recycling a Rune.
This new resource provides more flexibility in cost management and can be generated by certain cards in the set.
Repeat
The Repeat mechanic concerns certain spells.
When a card has Repeat, the player can pay an additional cost when playing the spell in order to apply its effect a second time.
Targets can notably be chosen again for this second resolution, which allows for adapting the use of the spell to the situation.
Which champions are present in Spiritforged?
Spiritforged introduces 12 Champions:
- Azir
- Draven
- Ezreal
- Fiora
- Jax
- Rumble
- Rek'Sai
- Ornn
- Sivir
- Lucian
- Renata Glasc
- Irelia
They bring new color combinations and allow for new strategies to be built around the cards in the set.
Spiritforged and collecting
Spiritforged is not just for players.
The set also continues the development of the collecting aspect of Riftbound with numerous alternate illustrations and special cards.
Riot notably announces 30 Overnumbered cards, 12 of which have a Signature variant, one per legend. The Spiritforged pool includes a total of over 60 alternate variants.
What does a Riftbound Spiritforged booster contain?
Each Spiritforged booster contains 14 cards/slots:
- 7 common cards;
- 3 uncommon cards;
- 2 Rare foil cards or higher rarity;
- 1 foil card that can be of any rarity;
- 1 Token slot.
A Spiritforged Display contains 24 boosters.
By default, a display contains at least 6 Epic cards as well as more than 2 cards with special alternate illustrations.
